Foreword from Festival Director

A very warm welcome to the 3rd Berkshire Music and Arts Festival and for the first time we are having to run the festival over a whole weekend which we are very excited about!

Once again, Ufton Court have opened their doors to us so we can invite musicians and writers to come and enjoy playing their instruments or see their work on display.  It really is the perfect setting for a Music and Arts Festival and well worth a visit.  Similarly our thanks go to the beautiful 12th Century church in Sulhamstead,  St Mary’s for giving us the ideal venue for our vocal section.  The acoustics within the church work wonders!  Sulhamstead Village Hall also is playing an important part during Festival weekend hosting our Drama and Woodwind and Brass classes.

As our festival grows year on year we look to create new classes, and for Festival 2017 I am pleased to announce that we are also including musical classes of ‘own composition’ across all instrumental categories, ‘Jazz’ and ‘performing from memory’.

Drama has an exciting opportunity for those that love to improvise and Creative Writing has introduced a new category of ‘Factual’ writing – pens at the ready! (full details of all of the above classes can be found on the individual pages).

We are very lucky to have the support of many people to help make the festival happen however the most important person is you!  So now is the time to start thinking about how best to get creative and join in the Berkshire Music and Arts Festival.

We look forward to welcoming you!

With best wishes
